We understand that social media is a growing part of life outside of school. We have a responsibility to safeguard our pupils against potential dangers when accessing the internet at school, and to educate our pupils about how to protect themselves online when outside of school. This is detailed in our Online Safety Policy (found within the campus Policies and Documents page) relating to ICT access in school.
We are committed to:
- Encouraging the responsible use of social media in support of the Campus’ mission, values and objectives.
- Protecting our pupils from the dangers of social media.
- Preventing and avoiding damage to the reputation of the school through irresponsible use of social media.
- Protecting our staff from cyber bullying and potentially career damaging behaviour.
We have Impero installed across the campus. Impero is a software which allows us to monitor sites and search material that pupils input in order to ensure appropriate usage of campus computers.
We understand that the rapid changes in social media can create challenges in educating parents and young people to the potential dangers.
