The Phonics Screening Check is a test for children in Year 1. Children take this test during June in a one-to-one sitting with staff.
The Phonics Screening Check itself focuses only on the child’s skill at reading written words (decoding). The results of the tests are reported to parents and carers by the end of the summer term.
