Guidance for parents/carers

Our school colours are royal blue and white – Embroidered school uniform items such as sweatshirts, cardigans, fleeces, shower-proofs and polo shirts as well as book bags can be purchased through S A Embroidery or Tinkerella. The school logo on uniform is not essential, but we do ask that all clothing should be clearly named.

Grey trousers and skirts/pinafores complement these throughout the year, although in the warmer months long shorts/cropped trousers and checked dresses can be worn. We recognise local supermarkets also have similar items. Shoes should be of a sensible, smart, polish-able design appropriate to a school environment, and be black in colour.

General points about uniform:

  • Jeans, platform shoes/mules and some “fashion” clothes and logos are not suitable. Trainers should be worn only for PE or to change into for playtimes.
  • Extremes of hair colour (e.g. bright red, purple, blue, green etc), style or length are unacceptable.
  • The only jewellery that may be worn is a watch and one pair of plain stud earrings, which need to be removed when taking part in PE. We recommend that ear piercing is carried out at the start of the summer holidays to provide opportunity for sufficient healing time.
  • Make-up including nail varnish is not permitted.

PE:

Children need to be appropriately dressed to be able to move freely and safely. PE kit/clothes in school colours of royal blue and white will be worn if working away from school or with another school. A sense of identity is in keeping with an overall team spirit.

Or PE uniform is:

  • White T-shirt.
  • Black sports shorts or plain black jogging bottoms in cooler weather.
  • Trainers suitable for outdoor activities or Plimsolls for inside.
  • School jumpers/sweat shirts/cardigan (no hoodies)
  • An outdoor jacket for winter.

A few other notes on PE:

  • If your child has PE or goes swimming that day, stud earrings should be removed before children come to school. If children want their ears pierced this should be done during the summer holiday so that no disruption of lessons takes place.
  • Long hair should be tied back.
  • Glasses should be worn when necessary.

Pre-loved

Please contact the school office who will be able to give details of the current pre-loved stock we have in school and an order can then be placed. A small donation to the PTFA is optional. To keep this stocked up we will regularly ask parents for pre-loved uniform donations.
